FCC Canada excels in civil works such as roads, railways, maritime construction, tunnels, bridges, and subway projects.
Scarborough Subway Extension (SSE - SRS) The 50/50 joint venture between Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometres farther into Scarborough, replacing Line 3 (the Scarborough RT). It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The construction is split into two contracts: Advanced Tunnelling (AT) and Stations, Rail, and Systems (SRS). Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is the partner for the development phase.

Project Opportunity As part of the Scarborough Transit Connect project, FCC is looking for an Architectural Construction Manager to join our team.
Reports to: Technical Manager Main Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the execution of all architectural works (stations, concourses, finishes, accessibility features and public spaces) within the subway extension project.
- Supervise engineers, architects, contractors and technical support staff ensuring adherence to project drawings, specifications and quality requirements, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Ensure construction work is in accordance with project schedules and budgets, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures.
- Coordinate closely with civil, structural, mechanical and electrical teams to resolve design and construction interface issues.
- Review specifications, shop drawings, material submissions, mock-ups and construction methodologies for compliance and constructability.
- Implement and monitor quality processes, ensuring finishes meet durability, safety and aesthetic standards.
- Oversee site progress, track schedules and report potential risks or delays to project leadership.
- Enforce health, safety and environmental standards in all site activities.
- Manage change orders, RFIs, and field issues related to architectural scope.
- Liaise with design consultants, city agencies, and stakeholders to resolve architectural design and construction challenges.
- Provide leadership to site teams, fostering collaboration, accountability and performance excellence.
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
Education And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed relevant.
- 8+ years of experience architectural construction management, preferably in large-scale transportation or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in design management and leading multidisciplinary construction teams of rail, public transit or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in project management software and computer applications such as Aconex, Bluebeam, Navisworks, Revit, Primavera P6 and MS Office (MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills to lead discussions and work with internal/external stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Thorough understanding of design process cycle, contracts, plans, construction drawings, specification developments and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of building conservation legislation and regulations, building codes, accessibility standards, engineering principles and project management methodologies.
- Ability to plan, schedule and organize a variety of activities and deal with stressful situations on tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
