About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Finance Department, including full oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, income projections, and cash flow planning.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, cost control, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements, including tax filings and remittances.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external stakeholders including banks, auditors, insurance providers, actuaries, and legal counsel.
  • Coordinate and support annual external audits and ensure timely follow-up on any findings or recommendations.
  • Monitor and control overhead and general expenditures to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and manage related communications and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate internal management reports to senior leadership.
  • Work closely with senior management to align financial strategy with business goals.
  • Lead or support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.

Key Qualifications/Experience

  • CPA designation required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong general IT skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  • In-depth understanding of EBITDA and revenue enhancement strategies.
  • Willingness to take ownership of all tasks, both strategic and hands-on, to support departmental and organizational goals.
