Job Description:
Under the direction of the Academic Chair, Mechanical and Transportation Technology Department, the Instructor will be required to teach two lab sections of ELN8299 Industrial Electricity for the Mechanical Engineering Technology program. The Instructor will be responsible for delivering the lab material, guiding student through lab activities, grading lab evaluations, and for ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for all students.
The teaching of assigned lab sections, including
- Delivery of regularly scheduled lab instruction in the Summer term in MTT department
- Ensuring student awareness of lab learning outcomes and evaluation techniques
- Providing a learning environment which makes effective use of available resources including educational technologies
- Evaluating student progress/achievement
- The development and creation of a safe and effective learning environment that is conducive to success for all students
- Liaising with faculty, staff, and college community members, engaging in program, Department, School or Faculty, and College promotion
- Remaining current in the field of study and maintain awareness of emerging trends and practices related to teaching and learning in higher education
- Modeling the College values – Caring. Learning. Integrity. Respect.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of high voltage, high current industrial electricity experience;
- Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience, or equivalent, preferably in a postsecondary setting is considered an asset.
