Looking for a new opportunity? We are looking for a Project Controls Lead to join our team!
What You Will Do
- Lead a team of Project Schedulers and Cost Analysts across assigned projects and portfolios.
- Oversee the setup and integration of baseline project controls, including scope, schedule, cost, and progress.
- Support contract bid evaluation and award processes.
- Maintain integrated cost and schedule forecasts, manage contingency drawdown, and assess impacts.
- Prepare and review project controls gate deliverables (eg. Project Charter, Business Case, Project Management Plan, Schedule. Estimate etc.) and support integrated gate development.
- Lead / coordinate the development of schedules with alternate project delivery methods such as Progressive Design Build, Design-Build, and Integrated Project Delivery etc.
- Analyze contractor reports, payment requests, and project data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Provide independent project analysis and strategic recommendations to the project execution team to support decision-making and project health.
- Conduct top-down and bottom-up analysis to accurately forecast project outcomes and set up control budgets from the project estimates.
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants to ensure alignment in reporting and trend analysis.
- Prepare, review and analyze project reports, dashboards, executive reports and data, including KPIs, trends, continuous improvement opportunities, and risks to leverage and mitigate
- Lead the change management process by validating, integrating, and approving change requests before implementation.
- Track, document, and analyze project changes and their impacts on cost and schedule.
- Facilitate the flow of integrated information and coordinate approvals for change-related decisions.
- Lead / coordinate the Risk Processes and development of pre-construction schedules and Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) schedules
- Monitor project execution for deviations, escalate concerns, and provide impact assessments.
- Act as a senior subject matter expert in project controls, recognized by PMO functional experts.
- Ensure adherence to PMO standards, procedures, and guidelines related to project controls and change management.
- Promote consistency and efficiency across projects in support of PMO objectives.
- Review and recommend improvements to current processes and systems.
- Participate in team selection and manage performance of project controls staff.
- Stay current with industry best practices, trends, and technologies relevant to project controls.

What Qualifications Do You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (i.e. civil, electrical, mechanical engineering, project management or business function), master’s degree (i.e construction management, project management, MBA) with several years of progressive, specialized project controls experience, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
- PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in project controls, including cost, schedule, and change management within capital projects.
- Proven leadership experience managing project controls teams and supporting complex project portfolios.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and PMO governance frameworks.
- Expertise in cost control, scheduling, forecasting, risk analysis, and performance reporting.
- Proficiency in project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, EcoSys, SAP, or equivalent).
- Experience working with TILOS is considered asset
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies in project controls and capital project execution.
