Job Summary:

The Picker/Packer is a key player in ensuring customer orders are accurately picked, packed, and prepared for shipment. Reporting directly to the Packing Lead, they are responsible for maintaining order accuracy and upholding safety and quality standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities (Outcomes & Measures):

  • Order Accuracy – Orders are picked, packed, and labelled correctly to meet customer and internal standards.

  • Efficiency – Daily order fulfillment and shipping targets are met with minimal errors or delays.

  • Safety Compliance – Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Team Collaboration – Support colleagues and leaders by maintaining open communication, a good attitude, and assisting in process improvements.

Responsibilities (Tasks & Duties):

Order Picking & Packing

  • Pick materials and products accurately from designated locations based on pick lists or work orders.

  • Verify item numbers, quantities, and conditions prior to packing.

  • Safely and efficiently pack products for shipment using appropriate materials and methods.

  • Label boxes and pallets according to shipping requirements.

  • Assist in loading and staging outgoing orders for pickup or transport.

Process & Procedure

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and suggest opportunities for improvement.

  • Assist in troubleshooting packing issues and contribute to corrective actions.

Workplace Organization & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S practices.

  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and defective equipment or materials to a leader.

  • Participate in safety training and actively apply safe work practices.

Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, leaders, and managers.

  • Support other production areas as needed to meet overall production targets and objectives.

  • Provide feedback on packing methods to improve efficiency and quality.

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or fulfillment environment is an asset.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to frequently lift parts up to 50 lbs and remain standing for extended periods.

  • Good organizational and communication skills.

  • Valid forklift certification is an asset.

  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle.
