We are hiring Autonomous Haulage System Controllers & Builders at our Syncrude Mildred Lake site in Fort McMurray! You will oversee the execution and optimization of the plan through the utilization of information available to ensure the autonomous mining fleet delivers the plan.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 years of MineStar COMMAND Dispatching experience
  • Experience in Autonomous Haulage System dispatching required
  • 10 years of experience in Mine Operations, open-pit mining
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A strong working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and an understanding of loss management techniques preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other office software
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities:

  • Manage & optimize shift production through correct AHS assignments and manage AHS equipment delays
  • Provide safe operation of the AHS operating system (MineStar Command) and actively look for hazards or unsafe conditions while collaborating with functional and cross-functional peers and leaders to influence business outcomes (including mine ops, extraction, maintenance, safety reps, etc.)
  • Ensure area access controls are strictly adhered to and entry is restricted to essential personnel only, while ensuring emergency preparedness plans are understood and adhered to
  • Facilitate AHS Mine plan compliance, and drive AHS system performance & production optimization throughout the shift including speed optimization, guide AHS support response, manage obstacle necessity, survey quality, course alignments, road network design optimization, etc.
  • Be accountable for monitoring real time shift production KPIs and collaborate closely with peers to maximize shift by shift performance including field visits when required
  • Lead emergency response incidents in a calm and controlled manner, participate in incident investigations, capture evidence and act as a technical investigator when required
  • Understand and align with all internal standards, work practices and guidelines as well as external regulatory obligations

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred Lake site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts)
  • This position is safety sensitive
