The Opportunity:
As part of our Yield Management Team, the Pricing Analyst is responsible for pricing all ongoing shipping opportunities, in-depth profitability analysis, liaising with Operations and Sales for solutions and managing deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Pricing: Develop sustainable rates in a timely fashion that are both consistent with our corporate goals and meet our operational needs.
- Analysis: Utilizing In-house software for lane analysis for past loads and creating mini-action plans to improve profitability on a lane-by-lane basis.
- Project Management: Coordinate the responses to bids/tenders to ensure all departments have provided the required information so that deadlines are met.
- Liaising: Work very closely with the National Sales team and customers in developing opportunities for additional business.
- Communication: Ongoing, active and frequent interaction with Operations and Logistics to ensure opportunities are strategically addressed and solutions are presented to best fit collective requirements and capabilities.
- Troubleshooting: Work with Invoicing and Accounts Receivable to support any requirements they may have with respect to rates and billing.
- Tariff Management: Update and maintain our Tariff management software as well as implement new pricing into our Transportation Management System.
- Performs other duties as required.
What You Need To Be Successful In This Role:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Economics, Mathematics or a related field.
- Transportation experience / knowledge preferred.
- Possesses a good working knowledge of North American geography.
- Advanced computer skills with spreadsheets and data.
- Strong interpersonal, people management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Time management skills; ability to prioritize and comfortable handling competing priorities.
- Able to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and work effectively with multiple departments, while also working independently at times to solve problems with ambiguous solutions.
- Resilient and adaptable to change.
