About the role

Job Description:

Tregaskiss, a division of ITW Welding, is seeking a dynamic HR Generalist to join or team. This is a contract position to cover a period of approximately 20-24 months. This onsite position is located at our facility in Windsor, ON.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive support across all areas of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, training, HRIS/payroll, benefits administration, compliance, health and safety, and employee engagement. You will serve as a trusted advisor to both employees and management, helping to ensure consistency, compliance, and a positive workplace culture while aligning HR practices with ITW’s business goals.

How you will make an impact

Workforce Capability Building

  • Manage end-to-end talent acquisition and onboarding, partnering with hiring managers to ensure seamless integration of both permanent and contingent workforce.
  • Provide collaborative partnership to site people leaders on career progression, performance optimization, and talent development to foster a high-performing workforce and execute organizational talent strategy.
  • Deliver compliance and capability-building training programs to promote a respectful, skilled, and resilient organizational culture.
  • Assists with the administration of compensation and rewards programs to drive accountability, engagement, and retention.

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Drive initiatives that strengthen an inclusive workplace culture, promote positive employee relations, and foster a sense of belonging for all team members.
  • Evaluate employee engagement metrics and collaborate on targeted action plans to enhance organizational effectiveness and morale.
  • Collaborate with leadership to proactively identify workforce challenges and implement customized HR solutions that drive performance.
  • Manage enterprise-wide HR initiatives, including benefits enrollment and wellness programs, to enhance employee experience and organizational well-being.
  • Lead and coordinate employee social events and recognition initiatives (e.g., annual parties, United Way, Wellness initiatives, Social Committee).

People Operations & Governance

  • Act as a coach and counselor to managers and employees on policies, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
  • Oversee core HR functions including payroll administration, HRIS data integrity, HR record maintenance, and leave management programs including LOA and Workers’ Compensation.
  • Support workplace safety programs through training, audits, and corrective action planning to promote a secure and compliant work environment.
  • Partner with HR leadership and ITW HR to maintain alignment and consistency in the application and communication of HR policies across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of HR generalist experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal employment legislation.
  • Prior experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Dayforce or Workday preferred).

Preferred Qualifications (Assets, but not required)

  • CHRP/CHRL/CPHR designation (completed or in progress).
  • Experience with employee engagement initiatives and culture-building programs.

Compensation Information:

Salary Range: The Human Resources Generalist compensation package offers a competitive annual salary with an estimated range of $59,000 CAN to $70,000 CAN dependent on the geographic location, the successful candidate’s qualification, and prior experience. We are committed to maintaining equitable and competitive salaries across different regions through regular reviews and adjustments.
