Position Title: PSS Leader
Reports To: Administrator Care and Services
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Position Summary
The PSS Leader is responsible for leading, supervising, and supporting Personal Support Workers and Care Aides in the field. This role ensures high-quality, client-centered care through client assessments, care plan development, and coaching of frontline staff. The PSS Leader collaborates with other teams to manage staffing, schedules, and capacity planning, while monitoring employee performance and promoting adherence to CareKW policies and best practices. The role also involves participating in quality improvement initiatives, supporting staff development, and maintaining positive relationships with clients, families, and other stakeholders. The PSS Leader must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, supervise, and coach PSWs and CAs in the field to ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery.
- Conduct client assessments to evaluate needs, develop care plans, and ensure services meet client goals.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective Care Plans tailored to client needs.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintaining positive relationships with clients, families, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other teams to identify staffing needs, build schedules, and support capacity planning.
- Support staff onboarding, training, and professional development.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and organizational projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as required to support organizational objectives and client care.
Qualifications
- Good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- 3 - 5 years of job-related experience
- Experience supervising and coaching PSWs, CAs, or similar frontline healthcare/support staff.
- Strong knowledge of client assessment, care planning, and client-centered care.
- Familiarity with healthcare policies, procedures, and other relevant regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage field staff, schedules, and workflows effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with clients, staff, and stakeholders.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent issues outside regular hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
