Production Assistant Who we are: A family-owned business since 1919, in Walkerton Ontario, Larsen & Shaw has been a leading hinge manufacturer producing top quality Custom Hinges, Standard Continuous Hinges and architectural products as well as a wide variety of other hinges, hardware, and metal stampings. Reporting to the Press Production Supervisor, the Production Assistant is responsible for a range of tasks throughout production to assist with the day to day operations of the company. The Ideal Candidate: High school diploma or equivalent. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with production equipment. Proven ability to support, implement, and sustain Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing principles. Joining the team means that you will: Assist with production, plating, and shipping operations as required. Follow established operating procedures and job-specific instructions to ensure quality and efficiency. Perform minor machine adjustments to maintain optimal performance. Conduct in-process inspections to verify product quality standards. Identify and report non-conformance in raw materials or processes to the supervisor and participate in corrective actions. Interpret technical drawings and specifications as required. Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment. Report any equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime. Actively contribute as a member of the production team. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality. Perform other duties as assigned within the department or support other production areas as needed based on priority requirements Compensation and Benefits: Wage starts at $22.56.
