Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary The incumbent will be responsible for the Delivering Healthy Babies Initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinate all aspects of the project including creating a research management plan, progress reporting, ethics applications, applicable research agreements, recruiting and consenting participants, collect and organize biological specimens, perform primary data management, as well as conducting analysis, write up and presentation of study results.

General Duties

  • Coordinate the research activities related to the Delivering Healthy Babies Initiative (80%),
  • Organize the collection of biological specimens (10%),
  • Responsible for protocol submission to ethics review board, amendments, and annual renewals,
  • Conduct literature reviews and keep current with study literature,
  • Provide information to research collaborators and collection of data from collaborators,
  • Create case report forms, keep them up to date and proceed to data collection,
  • Obtain the required training for Good Clinical Practice, RedCAP use, ethics training by the Tri-Council Course on Research Ethics, etc.,
  • Help with manuscript preparation,
  • Perform other research coordination tasks as needed (2%).

Education / Experience

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)

Field of Study: Health Sciences

Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is an asset

Work Experience: Clinical research experience in an academic and/or clinical research environment.

Required Skills

  • Experience in writing research proposals, preparing presentations, and tracking timelines for research project deliverables,
  • Experience in clinical research or Perinatal research would be an asset,
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills,
  • Ability to work independently in a fast pace environment,
  • Bilingualism: written and oral communication skills in English and French are required.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale: $44, 408.00 - $82,427.80. Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
