As a Personal Support Worker, you will provide compassionate care and support to our residents, helping them live with dignity and comfort in a welcoming environment.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Assist residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation)
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a positive environment
  • Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms and common areas to ensure safety and hygiene
  • Support residents with mobility and encourage participation in social activities
  • Monitor residents’ health and promptly report changes to nursing staff
  • Provide specialized care to residents with dementia using appropriate techniques
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver holistic, individualized care

What You Bring to the Team

  • Previous experience in caregiving, senior care, or related fields preferred
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols is considered an asset
  • Compassionate, resident-focused approach with respect for dignity and privacy
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Physical ability to assist with mobility and perform safe lifting/moving of residents
  • Commitment to maintaining clean and organized living spaces
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities is highly desirable

St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre (SJCCC) is home to Hotel Dieu Hospital and St. Joseph’s Villa. Located in downtown Cornwall, Ontario, we provide Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care services to adults in our 208-bed, state-of-the-art healthcare facility.
