Position Information Temporary position until September 30th, 2026 approximately This is a corporate position with a home base at the General Campus.

Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Electronics Technologist Diploma (3 year) from an accredited institution (as a minimum);
  • Minimum of six (6) months relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of legislative safety requirements, Ontario Hydro Electrical Safety Code, and CSA Standards;
  • Ability to understand the links and inter-connectivity of various electronic systems;
  • Ability to understand and interpret schematic diagrams;
  • Ability to service and calibrate electro-medical equipment;
  • Skilled in the use of electrical or electronic measuring devices;
  • Basic knowledge of general physics and anatomy;
  • Integrates critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in technical problem solving approach;
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office applications with emphasis on Excel. Perform basic data analysis. Produce charts and reports as required;
  • Excellent customer service and relation management skills;
  • Excellent knowledge in the use of a computerized maintenance management system;
  • Excellent teamwork skills;
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills is a must;
  • Availability for overtime, weekend support, call-back and flexibility in hours of work as required;
  • Working knowledge of WHMIS;
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to create departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions;
  • Relevant research equipment and/or lab equipment knowledge and experience;
  • Understanding of laboratory documentation and accreditation requirements;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of microscopes, analyzers, microtomes, etc;
  • Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET);
  • Registered with OACETT;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize tasks, anticipate problems and deviations with daily or monthly plans to meet assigned and personal objectives;
  • Experience in electromedical equipment support including anesthesia, defibrillators, infusion pumps, feeding pumps, thermometers;
  • Proven ability to working in an Intensive Care, Operating Room, and Patient Care, Laboratory, Research and Pathology environments;
  • JOHSC Experience and training.
  • Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
