Schedule: Sunday (9:00am-9:00pm), Monday - Tuesday (1:00pm-9:00pm)
Wage: $24.41 - $27.89 per hour

The Role
As a Community Housing Support Worker, you’ll be part of a collaborative team dedicated to supporting individuals in their homes and communities. Your focus will be on helping people thrive—physically, emotionally, socially, and culturally.
You will:
- Support individuals with daily living activities and person-centered goals.
- Encourage communication and self-advocacy through ASL and other inclusive methods.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being through compassionate, individualized care.
- Model positive behaviour strategies and apply crisis intervention skills when needed.
- Collaborate with professionals and community partners (MCFD, CLBC, VIHA, etc.).
- Embrace and continuously learn about Deaf culture and inclusive communication.
What You Bring
- Education and/or experience supporting individuals with diverse abilities (e.g., CSW, RCA, SIVA, Diploma, or relevant training).
- Some ASL proficiency and a genuine enthusiasm to continue learning to Level 3 and beyond.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a team-first mindset.
- Respect, patience, and compassion for others’ unique experiences and goals.
- The ability to stay calm, focused, and empathetic in a dynamic environment.
- Previous experience supporting individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing is an asset.
Requirements
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
- RCMP Criminal Record Check (Schedule A)
- MCFD Hub Screening
- First Aid with CPR Certificate
- Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
- Immunization Record or Medical Exemption
- Physician’s Declaration & TB Screen
- Three professional references (including one recent employer)
- ASL certification (or willingness to achieve one)
