About the role

Western Integrated Electrical builds, installs, maintains, and commissions electrical systems throughout locations across the lower mainland. We complete a variety of electrical installations which can be located at YVR, hospitals, industrial facilities, commercial buildings and in many local municipal facilities. We partner with our clients across the lower mainland to solve their most pressing challenges including design build projects and custom solutions. Distribution and lighting upgrades. Conveyor and machine installations.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented  Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will possess experience overseeing multiple small-scale project sites, with comprehensive knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulatory requirements. Experience in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program is required, along with a strong background in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures. A sincere commitment to fostering a culture of health, safety and environmental responsibility in the workplace is essential.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and coordinate daily EHS operations across multiple project sites, the service shop, and the main office to ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and other regulatory requirements

  • Maintain and support the company’s COR certification through internal audits, training, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Develop, review, and update company EHS policies, procedures, and manuals for all departments and locations

  • Conduct routine and comprehensive inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are documented and implemented

  • Provide support and guidance to supervisors, foremen, and administrative teams on safe work practices and site-specific safety compliance

  • Organize and maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, inspection logs, and other compliance documents

  • Prepare and deliver safety reports, safety meetings/ toolbox talks, orientations, and training sessions for field and office personnel

  • Liaise with external safety consultants, auditors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and timely reporting

What we need from you:

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an EHS role within construction or industrial services

  • Certification or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field

  • NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) designation

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with COR certification in BC.

  • Demonstrated experience in writing and implementing safety policies and procedures across multiple departments

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites across the Lower Mainland.

  • Excellent administrative, documentation, and organizational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety platforms

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with field crews, office staff, and management effectively

Assets:

  • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation.

  • Experience supporting return-to-work and modified duty programs

  • Familiarity with managing psychosocial risks in the workplace, including mental health and stress-related concerns

  • An understanding of applicable environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
