About the Role

The Transition Accelerator is seeking a full-time Visual Designer. This role will support our Communications and Creative Lead. The Visual Designer will design and develop engaging visual and multimedia material. This role is design-forward, with particular emphasis on visual storytelling, brand development, and creative problem-solving.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Design

  • Transform complex analysis into clear, compelling designs—illustrations, data visualizations, layouts, and branded assets—that amplify our key messaging across platforms.

  • Design and layout of reports, briefs, infographics, interactive PDFs, and social media assets that make technical content accessible and engaging.

  • Ensure consistent application of the Transition Accelerator’s visual identity across all materials and platforms.

  • Contribute to the design of digital experiences, including website graphics, interactive elements, and user-friendly layouts; QA across devices.

  • Produce and edit short-form video or motion assets for events, webinars, and social media.

Administration

  • Work with the Public Affairs team to build and send email campaigns.

  • Actively participate in team meetings and planning sessions.

  • Provide logistical and administrative support for webinars and other tasks as assigned.

Experience

Required

  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma.
  • 3–5 years’ professional experience in visual/graphic design demonstrated by a strong portfolio.
  • Expertise in layout, typography, and visual storytelling, with a track record translating complex/technical content into compelling visuals.
  • Degree or diploma in design or related field.
  • Strong written & verbal communication.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to scope effort and manage feedback cycles across multiple projects.

Assets

  • Bilingualism (English/French).

  • Skills in web/UX design.

  • Motion design or video editing (After Effects, Premiere, or equivalent).

  • Familiarity with interactive or (tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Location and Travel

This is a full-time, remote position for candidates located anywhere in Canada, and a hybrid role for candidates in Calgary or Montreal. The successful applicant is expected to provide their own place of work and to be available during core hours between 8 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, in their local time zone. This position has a compensation package benchmarked to sector standards, with generous benefits and professional development support.
