This role is pivotal in strengthening agricultural technical advice through geospatial technologies. The consultant will design and implement a GIS mechanism while adhering to international standards. By integrating various data sources and engaging with governmental bodies, the consultant will enhance the utilization of GIS resources, supporting sustainable agricultural practices and improving project outcomes across regions. Accountabilities

• Conduct an inventory and evaluate GIS resources available across government institutions.
• Design an integration mechanism for existing GIS resources and satellite data.
• Design protocols for incorporating drone data and infrared sensors.
• Propose standards and methodologies for the sustainability of the GIS mechanism.
• Provide recommendations to optimize ArcGIS usage and performance.
• Engage stakeholders and coordinate activities with governmental entities.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in geography, geospatial sciences, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in GIS design and implementation.
• Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and satellite data integration.
• Familiarity with spatial databases and interoperability standards.
• Strong writing skills for technical documentation and reports.
• Knowledge of agricultural or environmental projects is desirable.
