Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

This position providesmechanical engineering and operational supportwithin a processing facility, with a focus onequipment reliability, asset integrity, and mechanical system performance. This is a full-time,site-based opportunitysuited for an engineer with experience inheavy industrial or mineral processing environments.
**Work Schedule:**2 weeks on-site / 2 weeks off-site. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel to Saskatoon for the charter., camp provided.
###Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-daymechanical engineering supportto plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Monitor and evaluateequipment performance, condition data, and failure trendsto identify reliability improvement opportunities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues related torotating equipment (pumps, motors, conveyors), piping systems, and fixed plant assets.
- Lead or support**root cause failure analyses (RCFA)**and implement corrective and preventive actions .
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to improveequipment uptime, maintainability, and lifecycle performance.
- Support and drive**reliability-centered maintenance (RCM)**and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop scopes of work, technical specifications, and design packages formechanical upgrades, repairs, and plant modifications.
- Provide technical oversight and coordination formaintenance activities, shutdowns, and small capital projects.
- Participate inchange management processes (MOC), ensuring mechanical design integrity and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams onequipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
- Contribute toasset management strategies, including inspection plans and preventative maintenance programs.
- Support**hazard identification (HAZOP/JHA)**and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all mechanical designs and field work.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to operations and maintenance personnel onmechanical best practices.
- Actively contribute to site safety programs and foster a strongsafety-first culture.
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of experience working in an industrial setting.
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering may also be considered with suitable industrial and project experience.
- Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan (APEGS).
- Preference given to those with experience working at an industrial facility.
- Previous experience working within MOC programs would be considered an asset.
- Experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of SAP is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of codes, standards and best engineering practices as applied to mining and milling applications is considered an asset.
