Title: Guest Service Agent
Employer: Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort
Location: 30 Buchanan Drive, Englishtown, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, B0C 1H0
Housing: Staff Rental Housing and access to the kitchen are available onsite. Apply from anywhere in Canada.
Work Term: 8-16 weeks, Summer 2026
Compensation: $17-18/hourly for 35 hours per week
Job Role And Responsibilities
- Receive booking requests and interact with them during stay, including dealing with expectations, conflict and questions on Cape Breton
- Process reservations
- Check-in guests and inform them of covid-19 guidelines, location of their lodging, Bistro and amenities...
- Check out guests
- Be part of team with marketing, housekeeping, maintenance and other departments to ensure excellent customer service
- Be conversant in digital work and computers, so can send/receive emails, check websites and social media, as well as being good communicator in person, on phone and digitally.
- These messages are conveyed via cabotshores.com, social media, the press, video, Destination Cape Breton and other tourism and cultural groups.
Essential Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and outgoing personality
- Participate in a fun and dynamic team environment
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, prioritise tasks and take initiative
- Pay attention to detail and fully complete tasks
- Enjoy being in a rural area of Cape Breton
- Knowledge of local Cape Breton Island cultural events and outdoor activities
General Information
- The applicant must be a Permanent Resident, Citizen, International Student or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Flexible schedule with split shift Staff Rental Housing and access to the kitchen are available onsite.
