We are looking for a Lead Electrical Designer to join our Canada team and contribute to the design of a range of mineral processing projects, providing leadership to the drafting team and working closely with engineers to deliver high quality electrical design solutions.

The Role Based in Mississauga and working with an established design team, you will apply design and drafting standards across a range of complex electrical projects. There may also be occasional input on studies and reports from our Perth and Brisbane offices, as well as coordination with our engineering office in Manila. Your responsibilities will span: Applying ECG quality standards and processes across all drawings and plans Working with project engineers to create and update single line diagrams, schematics, PLC logic diagrams, switchboard panel layouts, P&IDs, and project design documents Managing the coordination of project drafting requirements and providing guidance and support to junior drafting team members Monitoring site construction activities in association with engineers to ensure adherence to design deliverables Carrying out vendor document and drawing reviews as required Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing and site visits as needed Addressing technical queries via the ECG Project Manager and ensuring feedback is communicated to the design team in sufficient detail Maintaining and controlling full project records in accordance with project requirements Providing reports as required by the ECG Project or Design Manager

What You Bring Advanced knowledge of and experience with electrical drafting CAD applications, including AutoCAD (essential) and AutoCAD Electrical, Microstation, and Microstation Aecosim (preferred) Proficiency in Excel (essential) Extensive electrical design experience Experience allocating work and leading drafting teams Mineral processing plant construction experience is an advantage Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications including standards, single line diagrams, and schematic diagrams Familiarity with relevant IEC and/or Australian Standards applicable to mineral processing plants Strong attention to detail with good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment
