About the role
Reporting to the Sanitation Supervisors and Facility Manager, the Plant Services and Sanitation will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, “Can Do” attitude and the ability to adapt to a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
Hourly wage : $21.06 - $23.89

Perform cleaning and sanitation of equipment, floors and other required areas in all departments on a daily basis, as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor, to Irving Standards.

Maintain all work areas in a clean and orderly condition that meets all GMPs and the Irving Standards for Housekeeping.

Operate cleaning machinery (e.g. floor scrubber, vacuum, walk behind scrubber etc.): use HPHW, LPHW, LPCW hoses; and use cleaning chemicals in the performance of duties as required.

Adhere to all safe work/safe operating procedures and chemical safety procedures.
-
Participate in all OCUs.

Complete all necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
-
Obtain and maintain the proper chemical training.
-
Perform all other related duties as required.

Move and set up High Pressure boiler units.
-
Unload chemical, record and place up in the front end for storage.
-
Set up chemicals in both Chemical rooms, monitor both rooms, keep them clean and insure chemicals are in place for OCUs.
-
Replace or rebuild Chemical air pumps in chemical rooms and portable carts.
-
Mix both Alcohol and Atlantic 12 for both Plants monitor, maintain and record.
-
Fill Atlantic 12 drums and maintain for Starch systems both plants
-
Keep both Defoamer systems supplied with Defoamer and record.
-
Clean and maintain waste rooms and Oil separation equipment.
-
Snow removal in both plants i.e. keep walkways clear and salted, shipping docks cleaned, clear emergency exits, doors, Fire hydrants, Pump houses, and valve rooms cleared.

Operation of Skid steer, Forklifts, Scissor lifts and Boom lifts,

Perform all other related duties as required.

Pump out oil into tankers in both plants and load used oil into Plants
-
Responsible for defrosting frozen products and ensuring the cleanliness of the facility, including floors and sinks.

Willingness and ability to work overtime as required

Willingness and ability to work on any crew and Plant

Physical ability to do the job

Successful completion of OCU training and qualification

Ability to successfully complete forklift training/JLG
-
Ability to take direction and work with little supervision.

Ability to climb ladders, work at heights and in small spaces; cannot have fear of heights or claustrophobia.

Ability to frequently lift up to 60 lbs., or more with assistance

Successful completion of OCU training and qualification

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and sanitation procedures

Ability to successfully complete forklift training - JLG/Skid Steer/Boom Lifts

Ability to take direction and work with little supervision.

Demonstrated computer skills (MS Excel/Access is a must, JD Edwards preferred)
