Are you a continuous improvement enthusiast looking for an exciting new opportunity? We're recruiting a Senior Reliability Improvement Advisor for Mine Mobile Equipment at our Fort Hills site. The Senior Reliability Improvement Advisor provides support in planning, prioritization, development, stewardship and timely execution of asset reliability improvement initiatives across all mining assets. This role helps create and sustain a multi-year roadmap for reliability initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational needs.
As a member of our Fort Hills Mine Mobile Reliability team, you’ll play a key role in improving safety, reliability, and cost efficiency, while driving best practices and continuous improvement for Mining mobile equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
- 8 years of progressive experience in project management or engineering roles within the oil & gas industry, preferably in mining
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, project management, or related discipline
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management and sustainment
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, SAP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Eligibility to work in Canada and willingness to travel to remote sites as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify, assess, and prioritize reliability improvement opportunities
- Develop and maintain muti-year reliability initiatives roadmap, ensuring projects are sequenced for maximum impact and resource efficiency
- Track and report progress of reliability initiatives to leadership and stakeholders.
- Support SME in the development and implementation of reliability projects, including project plans, schedules, deliverables and adherence to timelines, budget and quality standards
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and effective communication among internal teams, contractors, and external partners to gather input, review progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment.
- Assist in preparing business cases, funding requests, and project documentation
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams at Fort Hills and Calgary throughout all project phases
- Promote continuous improvement by sharing best practices and lessons learned
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Identify risks and support mitigation strategies to ensure timely project completion
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability
- Identify opportunities to optimize project portfolio, execution, and outcomes
Location and other Key Details:
- The shift schedule is a 4 days on / 3 days off rotation
- You will work out of our camp-based Fort Hills mining site, located in Alberta’s Athabasca region, 90 kilometers' north of Fort McMurray, Alberta on a FIFO (Fly-in Fly-out) from Calgary or Edmonton or BIBO (Bus-in-Bus-out) for Fort McMurray residents.
