Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is seeking a Program Manager – Perioperative Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for Kidd 6, a critical patient care area within our Perioperative Program at the Kingston General Hospital site.
This is a key leadership role for a motivated, values‑driven healthcare leader who is passionate about patient safety, team engagement, and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced perioperative environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Program Operational Director, Perioperative Services, the Program Manager is accountable for the overall leadership, performance, and operational excellence of an assigned patient care program/unit. You will lead interdisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, safe, and patient‑ and family‑centred care, while ensuring alignment with KHSC’s strategic priorities.
You will foster a collaborative, team‑based culture, enabling staff to coordinate and integrate services effectively while driving performance improvement, innovation, and efficient use of resources.
What You’ll Do
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for a perioperative patient care program/unit
- Promote and advance patient‑ and family‑centred care across all aspects of service delivery
- Lead interdisciplinary teams through engagement, coaching, and change management
- Oversee operational planning, budgeting, policy development, and resource optimization
- Apply quality improvement principles to enhance processes, efficiency, and patient outcomes
- Promote a safe, respectful, and healthy work environment
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Collaborate closely with clinical leaders, physicians, and corporate partners to support strategic objectives
What You Bring
- Undergraduate degree in Nursing or an Allied Health Profession from an Ontario university or equivalent
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Health Administration, or equivalent preferred
- 3–5 years of related leadership experience, ideally within a complex healthcare environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams across multiple levels of staff
- Strong knowledge of quality improvement, change management, and performance optimization
- Experience with project management and/or continuous quality improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills
- Strong judgment, problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bilingual (French/English) proficiency considered an asset
