The Opportunity

Your Impact

As a valued member of our team, you will help advance our strategy to significantly increase the number of families obtaining and maintaining affordable housing through in facing role.

  • Work with Warehouse Production Manager in shipping and receiving, unloading/loading trucks and checking in new donations
  • Sort and place new donations on skids, shelves or in boxes according to organizational standards
  • Maintains inventory controls by weekly physical counts, recording amounts of donations received or distributed through a computer.
  • Maintaining organization with regards to incoming and outgoing products
  • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Assist ReStore Product & Logistics Coordinator services in maintaining Habitat Canada’s ecommerce website, Shopify, which includes uploading new donations; updating inventory; creating, editing, merging orders
  • Prepare orders by processing requests and Shopify orders; pulling materials; packing skids; labelling; placing orders in pick-up/delivery area
  • Assisting affiliates with product information, questions regarding ordering and shipping procedures
  • Provide great customer to all ReStore staff and volunteers that pick up/drop off product at the Habitat for Humanity Canada’s Distribution Centre
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors, coworkers and volunteers to help maintain a positive work and volunteer environment
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
  • Wear the proper safety equipment
  • Supervise any co-op students and volunteers, as needed, and report any concerns

Qualifications & Competencies

  • One to three years’ relevant work experience in a related role.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficiency in inventory software, databases and systems
  • Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills will be required
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs with help of others
  • Valid forklift license an asset
  • Valid driver’s license

Physical Demands and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing 10-50 lbs. on a regular basis, and up to 100 lbs. on occasion, with another team member.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and occasional forklift operation.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
  • Ability to work in warehouse conditions, including potentially dusty environments, and outdoors when required.
  • Safety shoes are required, and the individual must be able to adapt to varying weather conditions as the warehouse doors are opened and closed.
