Process Analysis & Continuous Improvement

Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify and reduce variability, eliminate waste, and improve efficiency.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.

Perform capacity studies by equipment and operations to support future growth planning.
-
Conduct time studies and establish standardized cycle times.
-
Develop and maintain accurate process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Layout Optimization & Operational Efficiency
-
Evaluate current workflows and layouts; collaborate with management to implement improvements.
-
Drive cost-reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for operational efficiency gains.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
-
Collaborate with New Product Development and Production teams to support the introduction of new products.
-
Provide design-for-manufacturing (DFM) feedback to improve product designs.
-
Support an estimator by recommending manufacturing methods, tools, materials for OE and Non-Truck RFQs.
BOM & Drawing Management
-
Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system.
-
Update BOMs based on Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Design Change Notices (DCNs), or internal requests.

Develop and maintain manufacturing drawings using GD&T, in accordance with company standards.

Document and standardize ERP BOM setups and drawing procedures under the guidance of the Operations Process Manager.
Production Support

Assist with nesting and machine programming as needed.
-
Support Manufacturing Technicians in troubleshooting and resolving production issues through redesign, research, or process improvements.

Contribute to the preparation of estimates, specifications, and technical reports.
Change Management (ECN/DCN)
-
Execute ECN and DCN processes, including obsolescence and supersession activities.
-
Ensure accuracy in all related documentation, including drawings, cut profiles, machine programs, and ERP configurations.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficient with computer-aided design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
- Experience with nesting and machine programming software such as SigmaNEST, AMADA, Tru Tops, Bysoft 7, or Prima is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, inquisitive mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing field.
- Experience working in ISO or IATF-certified environments is an asset.
- ERP system experience preferred.
