About the role
As the Value Stream Leader, you will be working in close communication with management, engineering, and production employees on a daily basis and will be expected to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.
Location: 1403 Dundas Street, Woodstock, ON
Dedicated Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday
Job Duties:
- Support and initiate Lean Manufacturing practices such as 5S, kaizen, continuous improvements, value stream mapping, and visual controls
- Coordinate and collaborate between engineering, manufacturing, and sales to develop and achieve production schedule targets
- Develop manufacturing and processing procedures including detailed work instructions, drawings, bill of materials, and inspection sheets for each project or work order
- Solicit and analyze feedback from shop employees and sales to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Apply statistical methods for improving utilization of personnel, materials, and utilities
- Coordinate the delivery and movement of all materials required to feed the Value Stream including external and internal suppliers
- Prepare and maintain production schedules, monitor the progress of production, and take preventative action where required
- Design layout of equipment, materials, and workspaces for maximum production efficiency
Skills & Experience:
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, as well as geometric tolerances and dimensions
- Detail-oriented, accurate, efficient problem-solving, and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Solid Works and proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with designing jigs and fixtures would be an asset
- Working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Mechanical Technician / Technologist Program or Material / Operations Management or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
- Project Management Courses considered an asset
- Experience in SolidWorks suite of products.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
