About the role

Nature of the Work & Responsibilities

NATURE OF THE WORK:

The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in performing technical duties related to network, computer and peripherals, and providing technical support to users.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the overall computer support of the Dawson community via IT Support and other methods.

  • Create users and related configuration tasks in both Skytech Applications and Active Directory.

  • Manage employee accounts and permissions in various Skytech applications.

  • Assist users on the use of Omnivox modules, including MIO, and troubleshoot problems.

  • Assist users with Clara issues, especially during registration, and troubleshoot.

  • Reset user passwords and diagnose login problems.

  • Assist in the completion of lab configuration and installation of software.

  • Diagnose computer hardware and software problems, employing various utilities, where applicable, place service calls where necessary.

  • Participate in dispatching of calls and tickets as needed.

  • Perform other duties as required by the IT Support Manager.

Qualifications & Conditions

QUALIFICATIONS:

To have a diploma of college studies (DEC) in an appropriate specialty or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.

CONDITIONS:

  • Proven knowledge of Windows 11 operating systems

  • Proven knowledge of Macintosh OS X operating system including: preferences, user management, and system trouble shooting systems

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot printers in an AD environment

  • Advanced oral and written English communication skills (testing may be required)

  • Basic oral French communication skills (testing may be required)

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to organize work and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously
