Job Description
As a Registered Nurse you will be providing nursing care to patients and their families in the Post Emergency Pediatric Clinic, Ambulatory Care Clinic/ Medical Surgical Clinic and Post Discharge General Internal Medicine Clinic. Patients seen in the Clinics receive follow up visits and consults from various specialties for minor general surgical procedures, gynecology, urology, and plastic surgery etc. as well as infusions/transfusions.

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
-
ACLS certification an asset
-
Current PALS certificate preferred
-
Current PEARS certificate preferred

Experience with Paediatric nursing required
-
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification required
-
2-5 years’ recent experience in paediatric emergency, paediatric nursing and/or clinic preferred
-
Excellent assessment skills with newborn, paediatric and adult population
-
Experience in Ambulatory Care nursing, OR nursing or Emergency nursing is an asset.

Recent 3 years minimum Outpatient setting/ Clinic experience highly preferred
-
Experience supporting procedural based Clinics including therapeutic phlebotomy and critical assessment skills required
-
Proficient in venipuncture and IVs in adult & paediatric population
-
Proficient with medication calculation and administration skills with newborn, paediatric and adult population
-
Demonstrated ability to assist and support breastfeeding women. Breastfeeding Certification 1 & 2 an asset.

Commitment to Family Centered Care and demonstrated ability to work with families
-
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
-
Demonstrates critical thinking skills, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
-
Works independently and interdependently within a diverse health care team in a fast paced environment
-
Diplomacy and public relations skills required
-
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and a strong knowledge of policy and practice standards
-
Satisfactory employment and attendance record

Tri site coverage based on operational needs

Other duties as assigned
Additional Information
Hours: Monday to Sunday, Various rotating 7.5 hour shifts, 0800-1600, 0900-1300 (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $39.07 to $56.00 per hour
