A Snapshot of Your Day This role requires hands on responsibility for ensuring that everything functions in the lab: electrical and operational, provide safety trainings for all lab personnel, plan tests and test reports.

Your Tasks:

  • Ensure test lab personnel are fully trained in testing and safety procedures as well as follow up on of all valid technical and safety rules.
  • Manage all electrical tests from standard procedures on all ranges of instrument transformers, as determined by engineering documentation, using the appropriate electrical knowledge and Test Lab instruments, ensuring daily production quotas are met.
  • Coordinate testing with Production Planning and visiting inspectors.
  • Provide engineering test information to Engineering Department.
  • Provide test reports regarding compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure testing instruments are in excellent condition, safe, and are calibrated.
  • Provide recommendations for improvement of all testing instruments.
  • Responsible for ordering all equipment and ensuring cleanliness of the workshop floor for testing.
  • Carry out daily routine planning for the Test Labs.
  • Evaluate the performance of the Test Labs staff.
  • Follow all safety practices and procedures related to high voltage testing and the workplace.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a college program in Electrical/Power Systems Technology or equivalent, including Test Supervisor or Tester experience.
  • Must be familiar with the construction of high voltage instrument transformers or other high voltage electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of ANSI, CSA, EIEC Standards on instrument transformers is required.
  • Experience in high voltage testing is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office is required.
  • Experience in recording and analyzing test data is required.
  • Must be able to read and follow schematics, factory work orders and product drawings, as well as Testing and Engineering instructions.
  • Must be motivated and able to delegate difficult tasks.
  • Possesses an innovative mindset, is a problem-solver and is able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Able to converse, read and write fluently in English in order to follow verbal instructions and written documentation related to the role, and in the workplace, as well as complete any required paperwork.
  • Must be safety and quality conscious and be a team player.

We offer: In accordance with the Pay Transparency Act, we are committed to providing clear and accessible information about compensation for this role. The expected compensation range for this position is $80,000 – $120,000 / Annually. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on several job-related factors, including relevant education, depth and breadth of experience, professional certifications or license, specialized skills aligned with the role, and internal equity considerations.
