##About the Role

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator plays a key role in supporting a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role that works closely with production teams to implement and maintain EHS programs, ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and environmental regulations, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

You will be actively involved on the floor, helping identify risks, supporting investigations, coordinating training, and maintaining audit-ready documentation aligned with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.

##About You

You are a detail-oriented and proactive EHS professional who enjoys being close to operations and making a tangible impact on workplace safety. You bring a strong foundation in health and safety practices, with the ability to support environmental compliance and engage teams at all levels.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 1+ year of experience in an EHS-related role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience supporting incident investigations, hazard assessments, and root cause analysis
  • Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and general OH&S principles
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation and multiple priorities
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, production-floor environment
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to environmental compliance, wastewater treatment, or hazardous waste handling

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 standards

  • First Aid certification or other EHS-related certifications (COR, CSP, etc.)

##What You Will Do

Health & Safety Support

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs and safety initiatives
  • Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and safety observations
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training, orientations, and emergency response drills
  • Support Joint Health & Safety Committee activities, including meeting coordination and action tracking

Environmental & Compliance

  • Support wastewater treatment monitoring and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Coordinate hazardous waste disposal, recycling programs, and proper material handling
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and support chemical approval processes

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready EHS documentation, including training records and incident reports
  • Support incident investigations, track corrective actions, and follow up to completion
  • Assist in tracking EHS metrics and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders

6S & Continuous Improvement

  • Support 6S program implementation, audits, and visual management standards

  • Collaborate with teams to address gaps and improve workplace safety and organization

We’re also committed to engaging in third-party testing and certifications for fire safety, thermal efficiency, wind loading, product health, and environmental impact and durability testing against weathering.
