About Toronto Foundation for Student Success

Philanthropic Fundraising Services
51-200

Founded in 1998, the Toronto Foundation for Student Success (TFSS) was created to ensure that all students are ready and able to learn. TFSS is a registered charity and provides support to the Toronto District School Board schools (TDSB) but operates independently. Our administration costs are less than 6% which allows us to invest a minimum of 94% of all funds raised in most programs and a full 100% in others.

For over 25 years, TFSS has been building partnerships with the federal, provincial and municipal governments, the TDSB, concerned corporations and foundations, other NGOs, private individuals, families, and the many diverse communities within Toronto, to draw on the enthusiasm and expertise needed to execute its programs.

TFSS acts as an advocate for students, identifying and initiating programs to deal with the hunger and poverty experienced by students and our programs have expanded over the years as the need has escalated.

In 1999, TFSS and its partners were providing 11,000 nourishing meals every day to children in need. Today, over 218,000 nutritious meals are served daily in 827 programs.
