About the role
We are recruiting a Director of Finance on behalf of our client, a stable and well-respected non-profit organization with a mission to ensure that all Canadians benefit from world-class networks and services. Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director of Finance serves as a key strategic advisor to the CEO, senior leadership team, and Board of Directors, providing financial leadership that supports sound decision-making, effective governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, and the organization's long-term financial sustainability. The role also contributes to strategic planning and organizational initiatives. The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader with a strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to leadership. Main responsibilities include:
Provide strategic financial leadership, advice, and reporting to the President & CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership team Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to support organizational goals and long-term sustainability Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including reporting, payroll, cash flow, investments, and financial controls Prepare and present financial statements, forecasts, and insights to support informed decision-making and governance activities Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, accounting standards, audits, insurance requirements, and risk management practices Manage relationships with auditors, financial institutions, investment advisors, and external service providers Support payroll, benefits administration, and related reporting requirements Collaborate with internal stakeholders on strategic initiatives, committees, and continuous process improvement efforts

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field Completed CPA designation is preferred but not mandatory Minimum 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including experience reporting directly to a Board of Directors and/or Finance Committee Proven experience managing the financial operations for a not-for-profit organization is strongly preferred Demonstrated experience leading annual audits, budgeting, forecasting, payroll and financial reporting functions Previous supervisory experience is an asset Proficiency with large ERP systems and MS Excel
How You Will Be Rewarded:
$125,000 - $150,000 annual salary range Bonus potential Excellent benefits package 4 weeks’ vacation + sick days Competitive RRSP matching plan Hybrid/flexible work environment Free parking
