As the Facilities Occupancy Planner, you are responsible for providing interior design and space planning services for Calgary Police Service (CPS) facilities. These services include planning, coordinating projects, producing and managing schedules, budgeting and implementing assigned space reconfiguration projects. Primary duties include:

  • Manage and coordinate work orders to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of client needs.
  • Monitor progress and prioritize tasks to align with service level agreements while optimizing the use of personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Facilitate all staff and furniture movement between CPS facilities and space planning for new employees.
  • Consult with clients to gather business needs, requirements and establish priorities.
  • Define scope of work and parameters of project and evaluate success and shortfalls of project through post occupancy site visits and pre/post occupancy surveys.
  • Facilitate meetings, including documenting changes to scope, budget and approvals and schedules.
  • Move preparation with client coordination and with other CPS Business Units, including IT services.
  • Update Facility Drawings as required.
  • Coordinate the acquisition and installation of ergonomic furniture as required.
  • Consult with Managers, Project Managers, Development Coordinators or Facilities Planners to ensure all required project services are coordinated.

Qualifications

  • One of the following combinations of related education (e.g. Interior Design, Business Management, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or other related disciplines):
    • A Diploma and 5 years experience in commercial office space; OR
    • A Degree and 3 years experience in commercial office space.
  • Experience working with CAD (Computer-Aided Design and Drafting) is required.
  • An intermediate level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Success in this position requires effective communication skills, efficiency and thoroughness, focus on results, impact and influence, planning and prioritizing, relationship building and service orientation.

Pre-employment Requirements

  • An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.

Compensation: Pay Grade 9 $40.18 - 53.76 per hour

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day

work week with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
