About the role
This is an opportunity for an experienced application developer to contribute to a personal project based in Toronto, Canada. The role is focused on providing technical leadership and hands-on development expertise to help bring a new app concept to life. The successful candidate will work closely with the project owner to define requirements, establish a development roadmap, and ensure the app is built to a high standard. This position is strictly on-site in Toronto, and remote work is not available. The project is in its early planning and research phase, offering the chance to shape the direction and architecture from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the project owner to define app features, user flows, and technical requirements
- Lead the design and development of the application, ensuring best practices in code quality and architecture
- Set up the development environment and select appropriate frameworks and tools
- Oversee the implementation of core app functionalities and integrations
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions throughout the development process
- Guide the project through planning, prototyping, and initial launch phases
- Ensure all work is completed on-site in Toronto, maintaining clear communication and progress updates
Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience as an application developer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Expertise in mobile app development (iOS, Android, or cross-platform frameworks)
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and development tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide technical direction
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a project leadership role
- Must be available to work on-site in Toronto for the duration of the project
- Senior-level experience required
