The Blueprint

The Cyber Security Engineer is a hands-on, technical role focused on strengthening and modernizing our IT ecosystem through the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of cybersecurity tools and controls. This role will drive innovation, enhance existing technologies, and elevate procedural maturity to ensure our hybrid environment remains secure, resilient, and future-ready.

This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a key role across cloud, endpoint, and network domains. The Cyber Security Engineer will directly support Tridel’s vision of building a best-in-class IT organization and delivering on strategic cybersecurity initiatives.

A Glimpse into Your Daily Activities

Security Operations & Engineering

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain cybersecurity platforms including EDR, CASB, PAM, MDM, and email security solutions.
  • Manage and fine-tune Microsoft Defender, Proofpoint, and related tools to ensure real-time threat prevention and visibility.
  • Execute daily monitoring, triage, and response to security alerts; coordinate remediation with IT operations.
  • Support SIEM integration, log analysis, and alert correlation for hybrid (on-prem + Azure) environments.

Endpoint & Identity Protection

  • Enforce endpoint hardening, patch management, and configuration baselines across Windows and Intune.
  • Manage identity lifecycle in Azure AD and Active Directory—implement MFA, Conditional Access, and least-privilege controls.
  • Conduct routine privilege reviews, access audits, and vulnerability remediation activities.

Infrastructure & Cloud Security

  • Secure and maintain Windows Server, Azure VMs, and cloud workloads; apply hardening templates and security baselines.
  • Implement data-protection policies, encryption, and backup integrity checks.
  • Assist in Zero-Trust implementation, secure remote access, and hybrid connectivity projects.

Execution & Continuous Improvement

  • Document and automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell or Python scripts.
  • Contribute to incident post-mortems and develop preventive action plans.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and defensive tools—proactively propose improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, IT & Security Systems to operationalize new technologies and processes.

The Architect of Your Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience in security engineering, system administration, or IT operations.
  • Strong technical skills in Windows Server, Azure, M365, Intune, and Active Directory.
  • Experience managing or integrating Defender, Proofpoint, CyberArk, Netskope, CrowdStrike, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and Zero-Trust principles.
  • Scripting or automation capability (PowerShell, Python) preferred.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Security Operations Analyst, AZ-500, Security+, or CISSP (an asset).
  • A hands-on, execution-driven mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Technical curiosity and the drive to continually strengthen Tridel’s security posture.
  • The ability to collaborate, follow through, and deliver secure, reliable outcomes under pressure.
