About the role
Overview
The role of our cooks is to prepare and serve culinary delights for our guests and execute the menu with exceptional customer service in the Basecamp location. This position includes preparation, serving and order taking, the successful applicant must be able to work independently. Guest satisfaction revolves around the food quality and appearance. Our cooks are encouraged to create their own daily specials and showcase their culinary skills in partnership with the Executive Chef. A pivotal piece to the guest experience, we are looking for cooks who are as passionate about serving great food as they are about being in the mountains!
What We Offer:
$16.50/hr starting wage, plus tips
Full time seasonal 30-40hr/week. Overtime opportunities may exist during busy periods.
Shifts are mostly daytime and weekends as well as holidays as required
This is a seasonal position starting the middle of December to mid April, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
Comply with standards of service and assist in assuring the same for all kitchen associates.
Help control food waste.
Ensure all food safe policies are followed.
In conjunction with the Executive Chef, execute daily specials.
Maintain all cooler logs to ensure all fridges are working within the parameters of health guidelines.
Responsible for all the daily preparation of food items for various stations and all areas of both kitchens
Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
Complete daily and weekly cleaning of kitchen and equipment
Assist with the washing of dishes as required
Preparation of all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner working at an efficient and consistent pace.
Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in all work areas of the kitchen.
Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers or griddles.
Handle cash and cash count in till
Perform cash out to CMR policy
Qualifications
1+ years of cooking in a restaurant/pub kitchen
Entry level knife skills
Food safe certification is considered an asset.
Experience as a cashier in a fast-paced environment considered an asset
Deliver friendly, appealing service
Post-secondary education or trade certificates considered an asset.
Where We Are:
Castle Mountain Resort is located at the end of Highway 774, near Pincher Creek, AB. This is a remote work location. There is a communal living Staff Accommodation building on-site for new and returning non-supervisory, seasonal employees. About Castle Mountain Resort Inc.
Castle Mountain Resort (CMR) is Alberta's most authentic mountain experience. The resort, occupying an exceptionally beautiful, and snowy, location in the Westcastle Valley of the Southwestern Alberta Rocky Mountains, is located 2.5 hours southwest of Calgary. Castle is the only resort in Alberta with drive-to, ski-in/ski-out accommodations. The resort is well known for the best continuous fall-line terrain in Canada and no shortage of powder (900 cm's annually). Castle is Alberta's second largest resort, by acreage, taking skiers and riders back to the roots of our sport with uncrowded slopes, superb hospitality, and fixed grip lifts.

There is also miles upon miles of snowmobile trails leaving from the resort exploring the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Guided Snow Shoe Tours on mountain, perfect for Après Ski adventures. There is even a fantastic Cross Country Ski network at our doorstep and a lifetime of backcountry opportunities for the more adventurous.
In the summer Castle Mountain is the perfect venue for an intimate mountain getaway wedding. The T-Bar Pub and Grub is also open on weekends throughout the summer. There are numerous hiking trails and adventures to explore in Castle Provincial and Wildland Parks which surround Castle Mountain Resort.
