About the role

Maintenance Repair Technician-Onsite-3:30pm to 12:00 midnight

We have a rewarding opportunity for a Maintenance Repair Technician to join our world class manufacturing facility in Ottawa, ON.

As our Maintenance Repair Technician, you will Independently apply practical knowledge of technical principles and practices to perform a variety of non-routine technical activities relating to the manufacture and test of client products, in a frequently highly time-sensitive environment.

Salary Range: $52,000 - $66,400 annually plus 10% shift premium

Your Challenge

  • Working on projects, which may not have established procedures. Developing and recommending new procedures for test, maintenance, repair, or installation of equipment
  • Installing and maintaining new or more complex manufacturing or test equipment
  • Testing and calibrating equipment
  • Identifying and troubleshooting malfunctioning manufacturing or test equipment
  • Conducting semi-routine analyses and documentation updates, relating to materials management, manufacturing, or test processes Draws conclusions – suggests sources of failure, alternate diagnostic techniques, and/or problem fixes
  • Configuring manufacturing or test software for client builds, according to specifications
  • Building prototypes
  • Developing and implementing manufacturing or test plans
  • Supporting manufacturing staff in the use of equipment

What You Bring

  • Technician or Technologist Diploma
  • 2-4 yrs work experience, or equivalent
  • Experience in production and test equipment within a manufacturing environment
  • Skills in analyzing, judgment and decision making
  • Expert knowledge of current manufacturing processes/technologies, standards and specifications (e.g., ISO, IPC)
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with using computers, peripheral equipment, manufacturing tools and equipment and pertinent software applications
  • Experience working with test procedures and supporting documents
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, organizational skills, self-motivated, able to work independently
