##Position Description

The Epic Radiant Application Specialist will use their clinical, computer science and/or technical skills to support the hospital's main Health Information System (HIS), Epic. The Specialist will work closely with clinical and other teams to gather and analyze information and specifications regarding clinical practices/workflows and business processes; configure the system based on decisions; test the system at various stages throughout the implementation; develop and document policies and procedures that will support use of the system; and act as a liaison between end users, Epic and third-party vendors to ensure clear communication and alignment.

Here's What You'll Get To Do

  • As a Radiant Application Specialist, you will be supporting the diverse workflow needs of all Radiology and Cardiology roles involved in scheduling, performing, evaluating, and following up on screening, diagnostic, and interventional imaging exams.
  • Daily operational support and troubleshooting working with team members, end users, Epic vendor and other third-party vendors to investigate and prioritize addressing issues and requests
  • Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, define requirements, analyze, build, test and implement small to large initiatives
  • Assess new functionality in system releases, software updates and fixes to ensure compatibility with organizational standards and practices
  • Develop and document procedures for implementing system changes and other tasks/projects to support team knowledge base
  • Present analysis and recommendations to governance committees and participate in roadmap planning in partnership with various stakeholders
  • Lead and represent application in organizational projects that have significant impacts to patients, families, and clinical care teams
  • Work closely with business intelligence developers, technical and training teams to deliver high customer service for operational and project support

Here's What You'll Need

Essential Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a health-related field or experienced in clinical, patient access, health information or project management roles
  • Epic certification (list certifications/proficiencies)
  • Project/systems implementation experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication, organization, problem solving, critical thinking skills and detail-oriented
  • Proactive, self-starter who can prioritize effectively, manage their time, and learn quickly
  • Team player who requires little supervision and fosters a positive and collaborative environment
  • Ability to lead meetings, resolve conflicts, maintain issues and enhancements lists, and manage a project plan
  • Ability to probe for information about the underlying needs of the organization and user community, which directly influences how the system will be built
  • Eagerness to learn the system and promote it within the organization
  • Understand importance and demonstrates ability to foster a culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

**Employment Type:**Full-time, permanent. This position requires the candidate to be on call after hours, on a rotational basis.
