We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager – Cloud Platform Engineering & Operations to lead our AWS-based cloud platform services. This role will drive platform engineering excellence, oversee cloud operations, and ensure secure, reliable, and scalable solutions to support enterprise applications and business growth. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in AWS cloud services, application migration strategies (re-platforming, refactoring), DevOps practices, and strong leadership skills to manage teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Engineering & Cloud Operations

Lead design, engineering, and operational management of AWS services (EC2, EKS, ECS, RDS, Data Lake, Lambda/Serverless, etc.).

Oversee cloud operations, including patching, monitoring, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
-
Implement observability, monitoring, and security tooling (Dynatrace, Qualys, AWS Backup).
-
Ensure compliance with InfoSec, audit, and governance standards across all workloads.
-
Drive automation, standardization, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and self-service adoption.
Application Migration & Transformation
-
Manage application migrations to AWS cloud, including lift & shift, re-platforming, and refactoring initiatives.
-
Collaborate with architects and application teams to define cloud adoption and modernization strategies.
-
Provide technical leadership for transforming workloads into containerized and serverless architectures.
-
Champion a cloud-first mindset and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture roadmaps
DevOps & Tooling
-
Govern and enhance CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeSuite, ArgoCD, and integrate CheckMarx for security scanning.
-
Oversee container platforms (EKS, ECS, Docker) and API management (Kong API Gateway).
-
Promote DevOps best practices, version control, automated testing, and release management.
Operations & Service Management
-
Manage incident, problem, and change processes in ServiceNow, ensuring SLA compliance.
-
Oversee ticket handling and efficient response to production issues, including after-hours support when required.
-
Maintain disaster recovery readiness and business continuity plans.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Management
-
Work closely with application teams, InfoSec, compliance, and change management functions to ensure smooth adoption of cloud solutions.

Enable effective collaboration across technology and business stakeholders.
-
Advocate for Agile and DevOps mindsets, embedding modern practices into project delivery and operations.

Ensure alignment of cloud initiatives with organizational strategy and governance frameworks.
Leadership & People Management
-
Lead and mentor cloud engineering and operations teams, fostering high performance and professional growth.

Establish training and certification programs on AWS, DevOps, containers, and security practices.

Conduct performance reviews, provide career development, and drive succession planning.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
-
Act as primary point of contact for application owners, InfoSec, compliance, and business stakeholders.

Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance with cloud service providers and third-party tools.

Act as a lead and communicate operational updates, project milestones, and risks to senior leadership.
Required Technical Skills

Programming & Automation: Python, Shell scripting (Basic Proficiency)

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, AWS CloudFormation (Intermediate Proficiency)

Cloud Platform Expertise: AWS (EC2, EKS, ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, Data Lake, Systems Manager) (Intermediate Proficiency)

Qualifications & Experience

15+ years of IT infrastructure and cloud experience with at least 5 years in a leadership/management role.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field

Proven expertise in AWS cloud engineering, operations, and migration strategies (lift & shift, re-platforming, refactoring).

Strong experience leading DevOps adoption, automation, and container platforms.

Vendor management, contract negotiation, and stakeholder engagement experience.

Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Work Environment

Hybrid work model: minimum 3 days in-office

Availability to work flexible hours including after-hours and weekend on-call or as required for critical issues.
