ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is responsible for coordinating, communicating, and advancing the Departments annual performance plan and multi-year outlook. Facilitates the development of the Corporate Strategic Plan priorities and key performance measures for the Department. Coordinates the annual performance planning and reporting programs for the Branches and Department. Undertakes research and analysis to assess impacts of initiatives and the development of strategies and policies. Assists with goal setting and development of objectives. Coordinates the Department alignment, and communication of the corporate performance appraisal process. Supports staff in business management improvements relating to business practices, data management, organization, and business process mapping. Supports the development of service levels and associated framework related to business objectives and coordinates internal and external benchmarking initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Coordinates the development of the Department’s annual performance planning, including communication, execution, and oversight.

  • Identifies and drafts annual Department themes by facilitation with Department Senior Management Team.

  • Develops and reviews the Department’s multi-year outlook and consolidates results for reporting.

  • Supports the development, reporting and analysis of performance metrics.

  • Assists in coordinating the Department’s engagement in the Region’s Vision and Corporate Strategic Plan and coordinates annual reporting and plan updates.

  • Aligns the multi-year budget priorities with the multi-year outlook. Works with internal stakeholders to coordinate annual performance planning activities.

  • Leads and supports review of corporate and department environmental scans.

  • Assists staff with Department wide business functions, practices, information requirements, data requirements, business processes mapping, workflow analysis, information systems and roles and responsibilities.

  • Assists in the development of service levels and key performance metrics to support data collection for business functions and objectives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Successful completion of a University Degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ demonstrated experience in policy, business process analysis or strategic planning analysis and project management experience in a public sector environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing, tracking, and refining key performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability in the Region’s core competencies.
  • Demonstrated facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills to address competing interests.
  • Strong report writing, research, analytical and presentation skills, and work to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and present to Senior Department Management.
  • Understanding/ability to design and review optimal processes.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and prioritize issues related to managing multiple complex projects.
  • Advanced skills in virtual platforms and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with a range of internal and external stakeholders while focusing on fostering collaborative work relationships.
