THE POSITION

Main Activities And Responsibilities Reporting organisationally to the FIFA26 Canada Manager, Host City Operations, the Coordinator, Host City Operations Toronto will be a key member of the FIFA26 CAN headquarters team. This role will be crucial in supporting various operational and management assignments to ensure successful and seamless hosting of the event. They will function as one of FIFA26 CAN’s key representatives in liaising with various external stakeholders while also coordinating across a variety of internal functional areas.

The main responsibilities and oversights of the Coordinator, Host City Operations for the FIFA World Cup 2026 include:

  • Responsible for project management support on all operations associated with FIFA26 CAN, and providing status updates and other timely reporting.
  • Liaise with all FWC2026 functional areas including Commercial Operations, Integration and Planning, Stadium & Facility Management, Operational Services, Safety & Security as well as a multitude of other areas to ensure the smooth, efficient and effective operation for all stakeholders.
  • Establish relationships and maintain effective communication channels with external stakeholders including municipalities, facilities and local authorities, addressing their needs and concerns while ensuring compliance with FIFA Regulations and Guidelines.
  • Schedule, develop the agenda for and participate in regular meetings and workshops.
  • Administrative and operational support for the FIFA26 CAN headquarters.
  • Prepare official communications (including letters, emails, presentations, etc.), including announcements to inform stakeholders.
  • Support FWC26 Canada and the Host Cities’ delivery of facilities, key sites, projects and services on time, at a world-class level and consistent with the requirements.
  • Contribute to project and knowledge management initiatives including event debriefs and documentation activities.
  • Travel within Canada, to the US and/or Mexico may be required to reflect the business needs of the department (meetings, workshops, site visits, other Events, etc).
  • This role requires you to be onsite 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) at our Toronto Office located in Liberty Village.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or similar level of education in Business Administration, Sport Administration, etc.

Work Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 year of experience in major event operations or administration.
  • Proven track-record in managing complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of event planning and management processes.
  • Client oriented, efficient and effective, with a strong proven record of creating organizational cultures of collaboration.
  • Capacity to take and disseminate directions and decisions.
  • Be able to cope in an international, demanding and changing environment.
  • Be able to adapt and work well with people of other cultures and backgrounds.
  • The following strengths: collaboration, organization, multi-tasking, excellent communication skills, and positive relationship management skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar designation would be considered a benefit.

Languages

  • Fluent in English.
  • French proficiency is a plus.

Technology

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools.
  • Experience with Monday.com and WeTrack is a benefit.
