Position Summary Join our dynamic Nuclear Medicine team at Quinte Health and take your expertise to the next level! With the recent installation of the GE NM/CT 860 SPECT CT and the upcoming GE NM/CT 870 SPECT CT, we are leading the way in advanced diagnostic imaging. These state-of-the-art systems integrate functional and anatomical imaging in a single scan, providing faster results, improved patient comfort, and enhanced diagnostic precision.

At Quinte Health, we pride ourselves on offering specialized services that many larger centers don’t, including White Blood Cell Labelling and a broad range of hospital-based Nuclear Medicine studies not typically available in outpatient clinics. Our team performs advanced imaging in Cardiovascular, Genitourinary, Skeletal, Respiratory, Gastrointestinal, and Endocrine diagnostics, including Nuclear Cardiac studies.

Required

  • Member in good standing of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Graduate of an accredited program of Medical Imaging – Nuclear Medicine.
  • Possess valid liability insurance as defined by the CMRITO.
  • Initiative, organizational, and decision-making skills are essential.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal courteously and effectively with physicians, patients, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Able to prioritize workflow.
  • Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload.
  • Must be available to work all shifts including weekends, stat holidays and on-call.

Duties

  • Performs all nuclear medicine procedures according to the Standards of Practice.
  • Performs Quality Assurance procedures as set by department standards.
  • Performs area wipe tests, contamination monitoring, and decontamination.
  • Responsible for ensuring an adequate level of products and supplies to support daily operations.
  • Archives/retrieves data to/from PACS.
  • Reports equipment deficiencies to the Charge Technologist/Manager.
  • Injects contrast agent/radiopharmaceuticals as directed by the nuclear medicine physician.
  • Assists in the orientation and training of new technologists.
  • Demonstrates willingness to provide the highest quality service appropriate to the position based on the concept and philosophy of continuous and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrates courteous behaviour through polite and respectful communication with all co-workers and patients.
  • Participates in continuing education in order to increase his/her own professional growth and development.
  • Maintains a general working knowledge of the provision of Diagnostic Imaging services - policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
