Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta, serving the education needs of approximately 17,750 students in 43 schools. EIPS requires individuals to work as Substitute Administrative Assistants on a casual 'on-call' basis. The successful candidates will be trained on various computer programs unique to EIPS, including basic PowerSchool administrative functions including attendance. Candidates having bookkeeping training and/or experience and excellent computer skills are required immediately.

Open to: Internal and External candidates. Internal candidates, who are already approved EIPS substitute administrative assistants and have received the PowerSchool Attendance Training should not apply to this new job posting. Current EIPS substitutes interested in adding administrative assistant skills to their dispatch profile are welcome to apply.

Education/Experience Requirement: High School Diploma Candidates having the following qualifications would be considered an asset:

  • Administrative Assistant - Bookkeeping training and experience
  • Excellent computer skills - Microsoft 365 Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc)
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR
  • Ability to manage new technology
