Secondary School Vice-Principal MEI is a growing independent Pre K-12 school system with approximately 1600 students. Our schools rank among the top elementary, middle and secondary schools in Abbotsford and across the province. All applicants must be dedicated to Christian education. Successful candidates are required to sign an MEI Staff Covenant indicating acceptance and agreement with MEI Schools' Christian values.
Qualifications The MEI Head of Schools is inviting applications for the position of Secondary School Vice-Principal with the intended start date of August 4, 2026. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Valid BC Professional Teacher Certification or the potential to acquire it due to current certification in another Canadian province
- A completed master's degree or a willingness to complete a master's degree in educational leadership with a focus on administration or equivalent
- Successful leadership experience in an elementary, middle or secondary school setting
- A working knowledge of secondary school scheduling
- Demonstrated strong Christian leadership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to MEI's mission: Equipping students for Life and Forever
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders while operating with outstanding character
- Commitment to educational excellence and curricular faith integration
- Demonstrated problem-solving, team-building and conflict-resolution skills
- A working knowledge of the BC Curriculum and current trends in education
- Commitment to passionately following Jesus, contributing to the local church, and living out the Christian faith in practical ways

MEI Schools is a growing, independent, Preschool - Grade 12 school of over 1600 students. Founded in 1944, MEI Schools employs Christian teachers who teach the BC curriculum from a Biblical perspective.
MEI Schools is a Group 1 Independent School, as determined by the BC Ministry of Education, with an open registration philosophy.
Students of MEI Schools are in the top 10% for provincial academic achievement. More than 2/3 of graduates move on to post- secondary institutions, where they are recognized for their scholastic, academic, and community leadership. MEI excels in the Performing and Fine Arts, garnering international recognition. MEI’s athletic teams consistently rank with the best in the province, earning several BC championship titles.
MEI Schools is a Group 1 accredited independent school that receives partial funding from the provincial govern- ment. We receive 50% of the per pupil grant issued to the Abbotsford School District. The other major source of funds is the tuition paid by families whose children attend MEI.
As is true in most schools, the largest percentage of expenses for operating an educational program goes to salaries and benefits. Eighty percent of our annual budget goes toward the salaries of the 200 full-time and part-time staff members, who work at our four MEI schools. The remainder of the money is divided between programs, maintenance, and the upgrades we make to our facilities on a regular basis.
