POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a member of our operations team, the Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating excavators and skid steers to aid in installation of roadside safety systems and ground mounted signage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install signs, guard rail, barrier, and other safety systems in a safe and efficient manner

• Utilize excavators or skid steers to load, unload, and move steel barrier into position

• Utilize skid steers to auger post holes for ground-mounted signage or guardrail posts

• Use hand power tools to secure systems in place in accordance with safe work practices and safe job procedures

• Load and unload trucks with appropriate materials for project completion

• Complete vehicle and equipment inspections and operate company vehicles and/or trailers out to site

• Provide preventative maintenance and cleaning of trucks and equipment

• Maintain a professional demeanor to the public and customers while in the field

• Maintain proper organization in the yard when loading and unloading vehicles

• Lead and participate in toolbox/onsite safety meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of one (1) year experience operating excavators, loaders, or skid steers

• Ability to work flexible schedules and overtime

• Ability to communicate with project team members to ensure tasks are executed in a timely manner

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Valid provincial driver's license and clean drivers abstract

• Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing

• Preferably, valid Flagger training certificate

• Preferably, Construction Safety Training certificate
