Job Description:

Support Staff employees, as defined by the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration .

Payband: This position is paid at Payband J.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; This position is subject to averaging of hours. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and off-hours for projects, maintenance and support.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director, provides technical expertise for the functioning of enterprise Microsoft and Office 365 services in support of college-wide operations. Researches and provides specifications and possible solutions to enterprise applications and critical infrastructure services. Leads and supports troubleshooting of issues of all severity related to performance, availability and security vulnerability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Microsoft 365 Administration

  • Design and implement Microsoft 365 services
  • Manage user identities, access, authentication
  • Coordinate security and threat management with the Network Security Team
  • Ensure governance and compliance

Project Coordination & Solution Development

  • Assess customer needs and recommend viable solutions
  • Coordinate implementation efforts with internal teams and external departments

Infrastructure Planning & Improvement

  • Participate in planning and implementing IT infrastructure projects
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and liaise with vendors

Mentorship

  • Mentor co-op students and manage administrative aspects of placement

Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support IT operations

Qualifications:

  • 3 year diploma/degree in Computer Science, IT Operations, Information Systems, Computer Systems Technology or related field
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • 5 years experience providing technical support for enterprise applications, and dependent technologies
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Ability to troubleshoot and triage, escalating to appropriate technology specialists as required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and implement projects
