About the role

We are looking for a technically driven and innovation-minded Technical Applications and Development Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing our freeze protection solutions, including SR CTL product lines, by supporting product applications, internal tools, and system innovation. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and a practical connection to the field through customer support and design validation.

Schedule: 8.5-hour shift, Monday – Friday

Location: Remote, On-Site, or Hybrid

Job Description/ Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical software tools, selection calculators, and application resources that support internal teams and representative partners.

  • Support product design and refinement efforts through testing, validation, and structured engineering input.

  • Lead or assist in the development of technical documentation, including installation guides, application briefs, and internal engineering references.

  • Analyze field data and collaborate with Sales and Engineering to validate designs and improve technical performance in real-world installations.

  • Provide technical support for complex customer applications in collaboration with Sales, with a focus on engineered or custom-use scenarios.

  • Participate in the development and delivery of external training content, including sessions for reps, distributors, or engineering partners.

  • Serve as Heat-Line’s technical delegate in relevant industry standards committees, supporting compliance and product alignment with emerging regulatory frameworks.

  • Contribute to innovation planning, new product concepting, and field-driven product evolution projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in application engineering, technical product support, or design validation, preferably in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC-related industries.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills; able to clearly convey technical concepts to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Proven ability to develop tools, solve problems, and contribute to structured innovation.
  • Familiarity with design software or engineering calculators is an asset.
  • Experience supporting technical field issues, installation review, or performance troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable working both independently and cross-functionally in a remote-first environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.).
  • Experience with ERP systems, Pacejet, and WMS software (e.g., NetSuite) is highly desirable, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools.
  • Valid driver’s license required, with a willingness to occasionally travel as needed to represent the company at industry events.
