We have an opportunity in September 2026 in our Senior School Learning Strategies Department for a Certified Education Assistant.

Position Summary
The Education Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting student learning and well-being within our Learning Strategies Department. This position provides both individualized and group support to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Reporting to the Learning Strategies Coordinator and Senior School Principals, the Education Assistant works closely with teachers, specialists, and parents to implement personalized strategies, accommodations, and modifications tailored to each student’s unique needs. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of student development, learning differences, and inclusive education practices.
Requirements

Education Assistant Certificate or equivalent qualifications or experience

Certified to administer Level B individualized assessments is an asset

Experience and/or training in the RTI model, differentiation, and executive functioning is an asset
-
Knowledge of the BC Inclusive Education policy, and of current educational research on universal design and response to intervention

A solid understanding of the creation and implementation of Individual Support Plans

Experience in an Independent School (asset)

Computer Skills: Google Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail

Known to model the highest standards of professional practice and interactions with all stakeholders

Ability to understand the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy in building trust and contributing to a positive working atmosphere across the School community

Known to communicate, negotiate, collaborate, and build partnerships effectively
