About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team. This is a hands-on role requiring strong knowledge of employment standards, union laws, and HR best practices. The HR Generalist will be responsible for recruitment, compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations, while also supporting HR operations through tools like Rippling HRS and ATS systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for a variety of roles, including security, forklift operators, traffic controllers, and other positions.
- Ensure compliance with employment standards, union agreements, and internal policies.
- Represent the organization at job fairs and community hiring events.
- Plan and support company events in Richmond.
- Administer employee benefits and provide guidance on entitlements.
- Maintain accuracy in job details such as salary, hours, shifts, and other role-specific requirements.
- Conduct employer exit interviews and provide feedback for organizational improvements.
- Handle HR systems and processes, including Rippling HRS and ATS platforms.
- Support employee onboarding, performance management, and ongoing HR initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in HR or as an HR Generalist, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment standards, union laws, and HR compliance requirements.
- Excellent recruitment skills, with the ability to handle multiple roles across different functions.
- Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to manage and recall complex information (e.g., varying job requirements, schedules, and pay structures).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS/ATS systems (experience with Rippling is an asset).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
Location: Surrey, BC (with occasional travel to Richmond for company events)
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $3,500 per month
