Job Summary Technical Writer/Business Analyst

Are you a Technical Writer/Business Analyst with a passion for safety and operational excellence in the marine, transportation or oil & gas sector? Our Industrial Client is looking for a skilled Business Analyst to join the team, focusing on the critical area of operational and safety documentation. You will be the link between field operations and formal procedures, ensuring safe, consistent, and highly efficient marine transport.
What You'll Do
- Process Documentation: Work directly with crews and operational leaders to document current and future-state operational procedures (SOPs, work instructions, etc.).
- Operational Engagement: Conduct site and vessel visits to observe operations, validate procedures in the field, and build credibility with frontline teams.
- Safety Alignment: Collaborate with HSEQ to ensure all documentation supports hazard identification and is aligned with regulatory and industry best practices.
- Change Enablement: Support the rollout of new processes, develop quick guides, and coach teams on successful adoption.
- Governance: Maintain document control, versioning, and continuous improvement for all operational and safety documents.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 4 years of experience in business analysis, process development, or procedural documentation.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise, and practical procedures.
- Strong understanding of operational workflows and/or HSEQ management systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both frontline staff and leadership.
- Experience in marine operations, oil & gas, or other safety-critical environments is a strong asset.
Work & Travel This is a predominantly remote role with required periodic travel to operational sites in Kitimat, BC and North Vancouver, BC for critical engagement and observation.
